Eleven Sweetwater County Nonprofits Participate in WyoGives Day on July 16 Amidst Local Funding Reductions

On Tuesday, July 16, eleven Sweetwater County nonprofit organizations will take part in WyoGives Day, a 24-hour online giving event that raises funds and awareness for Wyoming’s nonprofits.

Six of these organizations are facing a combined loss of $142,710 from funding previously provided by the Sweetwater County Commissioners. These cuts may reduce services for many vulnerable community members.

“We expect many of these agencies will turn to United Way of Southwest Wyoming for help,” said Kelly Frink, Executive Director. “But donations have dropped, and our ability to respond is stretched thin.”

Last year, United Way of Southwest Wyoming awarded $305,189 in Community Impact Grants to ten programs, and continues to provide Community Diaper Banks, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, and Helping Hands Day for Sweetwater County residents.

Inflation is also impacting charitable giving—raising the cost of services while reducing the real value of each donation. Nonprofits are working harder than ever to meet growing needs.

Give Online, Make a Bigger Impact

WyoGives Day is online-only, making it easy to support local causes from anywhere. Donations may be boosted by The Hughes Charitable Foundation Incentive Pool, and some organizations have matching sponsors to multiply the impact of every gift.

To give, visit wyogives.org on July 16. You can search by organization or filter by county to support causes closest to home.

Whether it’s $10 or $100, every gift helps preserve services that might otherwise be at risk. WyoGives Day is more than a fundraiser—it’s a way for Sweetwater County to stand together and support the nonprofits that make our community stronger.
