Everyone should be able to make healthy choices for themselves and their families. But there can be lots of barriers in underserved (rural) communities. United Way’s partnerships with local groups expand access to nutritious food and quality health care, education and services.
- 1 in 5 children are food insecure and 1 in 7 adults in Wyoming are food insure.
- 14 % of Wyoming residents under the age of 65 have no health insurance.
Lincoln Self Reliance provided 305 rides to people with disabilities for medical care/treatment in Lincoln and Uinta Counties.
Food Bank of Sweetwater County distributed food to 4,260 clients last year. People facing food insecurity often find it challenging to concentrate, struggle with low energy levels and may miss school or work due to health issues.
