United Way of Southwest Wyoming has received a $5,000 matching grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation to support Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Fremont and Uinta counties. This critical funding comes at a pivotal time, as both counties are at risk of losing the beloved early-literacy program due to ongoing funding shortages.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides free, high-quality, age-appropriate books each month to children from birth to age five, helping foster a love of reading and support early childhood development. Since its introduction in Wyoming, the program has positively impacted thousands of families by ensuring children have access to books during their most formative years.
The matching grant requires United Way of Southwest Wyoming to raise an additional $5,000 in community support to unlock the full funding amount. Together, these funds will help sustain the program locally and prevent service disruptions for enrolled families in Fremont and Uinta counties.
“Early literacy is one of the most powerful investments we can make in a child’s future,” said Kelly Frink of United Way of Southwest Wyoming. “This generous matching grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation gives our community an opportunity to come together and ensure children in Fremont and Uinta counties continue receiving books that inspire learning and imagination.”
Without additional funding, the Imagination Library programs in these counties face the possibility of discontinuation, which would leave many young children without access to free books in their homes.
United Way of Southwest Wyoming invites community members, businesses, and partners to help meet the match and keep Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library available for local families.
